Desde lejos nos unimos a la protesta y compartimos los cantos y las cacerolas.
Acción de escucha realizada junto a Juan Necochea durante la primera semana del “estallido social” que se vive en Chile desde el 18 de Octubre 2019, el día en que Chile Despertó.
Un altavoz proyecta sonidos de los cacerolazos, y la canción ‘El derecho de vivir en paz’ de Victor Jara y también la interpretación de una bella soprano anónima que alzó la voz durante el toque el toque de queda para compartir su canto con sus vecinos desde el encierro.
El altavoz se equilibra en una rama con el peso del reproductor mp3, amplificador y batería. Trata de mantenerse estable a pesar de la difícil situación. Un vivo retrato de nuestra frágil democracia y el vértigo de todos los que exigen con justicia.
El altavoz se encuentra en constante pero sutil movimiento para mantener el equilibrio, balanceandose suavemente mientras canta la canción de miles de voces y se toma el espacio con su sonido, convierte un espacio ajeno, silencioso y casi estéril en un lugar de dialogo, empatía y reflexión.
| Listening action along with Juan Necochea during the first week of the social uprising that is happening in Chile since October 18th, 2019, the day that Chile woke up.
A speaker horn projects the sounds of pots and pans recorded in the streets of Santiago during the protests, the song “El derecho de vivir en paz” by Victor Jara, an anthem of freedom and justice during hard political times in the country, and a beautiful interpretation by an anonymous Soprano that sang the song loudly during the curfew to share it with her neighbors from the confinement.
The speaker is in equilibrium through a tree branch along with the weight of the mp3 player, an amplifier, and a battery. It tries to remain stable in spite of the difficult situation. A live portrait of our fragile democracy and the vertigo of everybody that is demanding justice.
The speaker is in a constant yet subtle movement to keep its equilibrium, softly balancing its body while singing the song of thousands of voices and taking over the space with its sound, it transforms a space that is alien, silent, and almost sterile into a place of dialogue, empathy, and reflection.
