Beatcells
Wireless controlled rhythmical devices attached to different materials and surfaces in a room/space. Turn the space alive, turn any space into an musical instrument; use objects, materials, surfaces into builders of space, environments, atmospheres.
by: Thomas Sanchez Langeling & Nicole L’Huillier
The spaces we inhabit are composed by a diversity of materials. Each of them has specific characteristics that surrounds us and build intentioned atmospheres. Beatcells are wireless rhythmical modules that can be attached to different materials and surfaces in a space. The modules are capable of actuating its surrounding surface highlighting the acoustic qualities of the materials. This small modules as well light up for every actuated note. The objective is to turn any space into an musical instrument and associate it with a visual stimuli.
We invite you to experience space by listening, by playing with it. What would our buildings have to say to us? How can we awake the different and wide characteristics of the spaces that surround us?
